I must unfortunately report that our little expedition has once again run into a small spot of bother. We arrived today at the small mountain town of Xiallanguapa, which is mercifully free of the restless dead, and settled in to prepare to venture up into the higher reaches to collect samples when we heard a most distressing bit of news from the local goatherders. Apparently some sort of bug-eyed, lizardlike creatures have been attacking animals and travellers alike in the mountains these past few months, and as such it might be a tad precarious to travel. We will not let ourselves be deterred however, and will be heading out come morning with blade and firearms both at the ready. In less dramatic news, I found a glorious example of the Blue-winged Dovetail Butterfly earlier today, and to my great joy I was able to catch it with little issue. I dare not send it by mail, as its fragile wings might be harmed in transit, but I will be sure to show it to you when I return home. Sgd. Your determined Son, Joseph Edwards
